PLYMOUTH, Mich., June 07, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Perceptron, Inc. (NASDAQ:PRCP), a leading global provider of 3D automated metrology solutions and coordinate measuring machines, announced that a prominent Japanese automotive manufacturer selected Perceptron for their compact vehicle program.
The project includes two in-line gauging stations. Station one features four robot-mounted Helix HDR sensors and six stationary Helix sensors to measure approximately 100 inspection points on the vehicle’s underbody. Station two includes four robot-mounted Helix HDR sensors to measure 94 locations on the vehicle’s framed body. These two flexible robotic systems will be configured to measure one vehicle model manufactured at the plant.

The gauging stations are currently in the final stage of installation.
